Exciting Developments at the Nepal Library Association!

The Nepal Library Association (NLA) is thrilled to announce our upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing access to information and educational resources for professionals and learners across Nepal. In our continuous effort to promote knowledge sharing and digital literacy, we are in the process of establishing a Digital Library, a Learning Management System (LMS) using Moodle, and an Open Journal System (OJS).

Digital Library

Our Digital Library will serve as a comprehensive online repository, providing access to a vast array of digital resources including e-books, research articles, multimedia materials, and much more. This platform will empower library users by enabling them to access valuable information from anywhere, at any time. With an emphasis on inclusivity, the Digital Library will support diverse communities and help bridge the information gap in our country. Visit; Digital Library

Learning Management System (LMS) in Moodle

To further enhance educational opportunities, we are excited to implement a Learning Management System (LMS) built on Moodle. This system will facilitate online learning and professional development for library staff and users alike. Through the LMS, we will offer a range of courses, workshops, and training sessions that focus on essential skills such as digital literacy, information management, and library science. This initiative will not only enrich the knowledge base of library professionals but will also foster a culture of continuous learning. Visit for online learning: Learning with Moodle

Open Journal System (OJS)

In addition to the Digital Library and LMS, the NLA is committed to advancing research and scholarly communication in Nepal through the establishment of an Open Journal System (OJS). This platform will provide a robust framework for the publication and dissemination of academic journals, allowing researchers and scholars to share their findings with a broader audience. By promoting open access to research, we aim to contribute to the global body of knowledge and support the academic community in Nepal.

We believe that these initiatives will significantly enhance the capacity of libraries and information services across the country. We encourage all library professionals and stakeholders to engage with these developments as we move forward.
